Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining Essay
You must have noticed that when dark clouds cover the sky for a moment, the sun is not visible and the area becomes dark. But this is only temporary and over time the clouds part or disappear, allowing sunlight to illuminate the scene. If we look closely at a dark cloud, we can see the sun’s rays illuminating its edges, as if it were bright silver.
Something similar happens in our life. In the proverb “every dark cloud has a silver lining”, “clouds” are compared to trouble, suffering, tragedy and all the bad times in a person’s life. And the proverbial “silver lining,” taken together, refers to good happy times or the resolution of a problem.
The whole proverb is based on “hope”. If people have hope that things will eventually get better and keep working towards their goals, things will surely work out in their favor. People can choose to live in misery and despair, complaining about their circumstances, or they can choose to be optimistic and live productive life.
People who seek respect know how to broaden their horizons to make their lives the best they can be. And they are the ones who look beyond the momentary problems that momentarily cloud their skies. The design, growth and character of moving forward in life are represented by the phrase “silver lining”.
