Essay on Election

Elections are a systematic process by which people vote to elect a man or a group (party) for the position of President, Chairman, Secretary, or Cashier of Parliament, State Assembly, Committee, or Association.

Elections are held for the state legislature, parliament, trade unions and other organizations. Elections for state assemblies and parliament take place every five years. Notification is issued along with the complete election program.

Candidates submit nomination papers and the election process starts. Marks are assigned. Candidates go to the voters and ask to get their support. Meetings are also organized to promote candidates’ programs.

The Election Commission, with the help of the government, sets up polling booths in the areas. The election campaign ends two days before the election. Voting is a secret process. The result is announced after the votes have been counted. The winning group becomes the ruling group.
