Deforestation means cutting down trees on a large scale. Today, deforestation has become a global issue. This problem is growing day by day. Deforestation has led to the extinction of many wild animals and birds.
Reason of Deforestation
There are many reasons for deforestation. The biggest cause of deforestation is population explosion. More people need more food and shelter. Because of this people cut down trees without understanding its effects. Hundreds of acres of forests are being lost every day in the world. There is a strong link between drought and deforestation. Regular drought is one of the symptoms of deforestation. In addition, over-cultivation and other causes of soil erosion or deforestation.
Effects of Deforestation
Deforestation causes severe damage to our lives and the environment. This is a major threat to the ecological balance. Deforestation is causing an increase in carbon dioxide around the world. As a result, the world is getting warmer day by day. Sea levels are rising and in the near future, most of the world will be covered by the sea.
On the other hand, deforestation is turning new areas of the world into deserts. Due to deforestation, animals and birds have to leave their places. Deforestation also severely damages the soil because trees protect the soil. The soil produces sediments and riverbanks and the lack of trees causes frequent floods.
So if we keep cutting down trees, one day the earth will turn into a great sweet. Not all animals and birds will find food or shelter. There will be no rain. As a result, our agriculture will suffer severely. Temperatures will rise which will have a greenhouse effect. Our country will not be able to survive due to various natural disasters such as floods, droughts, storms, etc.
Control of Deforestation
The United Nations has already held several conferences to control deforestation. As a nation, we have some responsibilities. We should plant as many trees as possible to save our environment and our lives. We should not waste paper which will reduce deforestation. The government should plan to control the population explosion so that it does not burn and the forests meet our growing needs.
