Peer Pressure Essay in English for Students

Peer Pressure Essay

Young people are often influenced by the age of others in their behavior and situations. This is called “peer pressure”.

We are all surrounded by peers, people our age who have experiences and interests similar to ours. We make dozens of decisions every day and are influenced by the choices and behaviors of others. Similarly, young people are influenced because they want to fit in, to be what they admire, to do what others do or what others have. No one is immune to peer pressure.

Peer pressure can be both positive and negative. Pressure has the power to make a diamond, but it has to be the right pressure.

How peer pressure can be positive.

Peer pressure has many benefits if the peers are good. Good colleagues set many good examples for others. If peers commit to doing well in school or doing their best in sports, they can inspire those around them to be more goal-oriented as well. Second, partners who are kind and loyal can inspire others to develop these qualities in themselves.

Additionally, peers can help each other make decisions, such as which courses to take or how to handle family arguments. Colleagues often give each other good advice. Partners may join each other in clubs, sports or religious groups. One’s world would be for the less wealthy without peers to cheer you on or offer moral support when you need it most.

How peer pressure can be negative.

On the other hand, bad partners can pressure each other to do something bad, such as shoplifting, taking drugs or alcohol, or taking dangerous risks while driving. Almost everyone ends up in a sticky situation of peer pressure at some point.

Teenagers experience a lot of stress in their lives, as this is the time when they have to make some of the most important decisions in life, such as pursuing a career or choosing a partner. It is very easy to fall victim to negative peer pressure at such times.

How good family relationships can change the way children respond to peer pressure.

Responding to peer pressure is part of human nature, but some people are more likely to give in and others are better able to resist and stand their ground. I strongly believe that the pressures of resistance and peer pressure can be buffered with good family relationships and high self-esteem.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of parents to create a stable family environment and talk to their children about peer pressure. Tell them how powerful it can be and let them know that the “everyone else did it” excuse will never be accepted and that they will be held accountable for their actions.

Conclusion:
In short, peer pressure is inevitable and can be both positive and negative. However, if parents teach their children to deal with negative peer pressure, it can be largely positive.
