International Yoga Day Essay
International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21 as a global event. International Yoga Day began in 2015. It was Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who proposed the day at the United Nations in 2014.
UN received a draft resolution on “International Yoga Day” presented by the Indian Ambassador to the United Nations. Supported by 177 countries, the largest number of sponsors of any UN resolution. The United Nations then declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. International Yoga Day aims to educate people around the International about the benefits of yoga.
Yoga is an ancient art that originated in India about 5000 years ago. Yoga is a good practice if it is done in daily life. It helps us to have a healthy lifestyle and a better life forever. Yoga plays an important role in our daily lives and one should learn to practice it to improve one’s overall mental and physical well-being.
